KAPPA III Principal’s Corner – May 30

I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  We are 4 weeks away from the end of the school year.  It has been a pleasure watching our KAPPA III scholars flourish throughout the academic year.  Thank you for all of your support towards our scholars and our school.

This Wednesday, we have a Special Program coming in to speak to our 6th and 7th grade students and parents, about the High School Preparations.  They will discuss the various programs that are available to help prepare our students for these programs.

This week, our 6th grade will have field day.  All 6th grade Professors are scheduled to attend.  Our Family Fun Day has been rescheduled back to its original date:  Saturday, June 10th because the Superintendent is hosting a Literacy Fair on Saturday, June 3rd.  I encourage you all to attend.  The New York Science Exam will be administered on Monday, June 5th for 8th grade students.  In addition, we have 6th grade scheduled to visit the zoo and 7th grade will visit the Museum of Natural History.

Please note we have Affirmation Dinner on June 8th from 4:30pm-7pm.  All 8th grade parents and students are invited.

For RTI we will continue with our Book Clubs.  The purpose of Book clubs is for students to read and discuss literature with their peers.  Literature circles are small, temporary discussion groups of students who select a work of literature that they will read and discuss together.
