KAPPA III Principal’s Corner – March 6

Tomorrow, March 7th, 2017 we will celebrate Perfect Attendance with a breakfast.  Attendance helps students succeed in school and boost their self-esteem.  This breakfast includes parents and community members.  The purpose is to celebrate positive climate and thank families for making KAPPA III a place where you and your child want to be.  We have been celebrating Perfect Attendace all year with Pizza Parties.  The class with the highest Attendance Percentage receives a Pizza Party and students are given points in their E-card when they obtain Perfect Attendance monthly.
The next upcoming Saturdays will be busy.  On March 11, 2017 and March 18th we will host Camp Becket at KAPPA III for our 8th graders.  The program is designed to teach scholars about managing their behavior towards self and others and learn how to make better decisions.  All of the activities are interactive and focuses on leadership skills.  PTA will host another workshop on March 11th from 10-12 on financial literacy “Build your credit.”  We will continue to prepare our scholars for the state exam during our Saturday Academy program.  We encourage all students to attend.
Our student-led conferences will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 1:00-3:30pm and 5:00pm-8:00pm.  All students must attend student-led conference.  This conference is designed to empower students and create an opportunity for them to take ownership and pride for their work.  Students share evidence of work from their portfolios to guide their conversation.  We encourage families that are unable to attend our student-led conference set by the Chancellor, to contact our parent coordinator, Ms. Ovalles, and schedule an appointment for a later time.  Scholar Dollars will be distributed to all families in attendance!
